Association Management Services

SMG is a full service management firm for professional societies, trade assocaitions and foundations.  We specialize in turn-around sitautions, taking a dwindling budget and turning it into a prosperous one for the non-profit.  Some of our achievements include:

• Successful in doubling the association membership within three years
• Launched two online learning center websites with educational content and continuing education modules
• Developed product line for association sales
• Developed fundraising campaigns for foundations including silent auctions, raffles and donor card mailings
• Launched a magazine, taking the association from a black & white newsletter to an advertiement-driven, four-color magazine
• Participated in numerous association-mandated annual audit processes 
• Developed grant proposals accepted for major funding awards
• Developed and presented informational PowerPoint presentations to corporations for programs and grant submissions
• Our President was named one of the "Most Influential Women in Optical" in 2011

§  We can serve as a central information desk for your company on the accreditation processes for opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists in the U.S. and Canada.

Did you know that when you hold a meeting for optometrists in the states of Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee and Vermont, additional processing is required?  We do!

SMG serves as the national headquarters for the Vesalius Trust for Visual Communication in the Health Sciences, a 501(c)3 foundation serving the medical illustration and biocommunications fields.  Other association clients have included the Contact Lens Society of America, the CLSA Foundation, Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology, the Opticians Association of Maryland, and the Opticians Association of America.
